Stars from across the music industry gathered to partake in a staple of the New Year festivities, last night - Jools Holland's Hootenanny.

Performers gathered in London's BBC studios for the pre-recorded show, which is steeped in modern broadcast media history.

The Proclaimers, spammy Emeli Sande, Lisa Stansfield, The Kinks' Ray Davies and Melanie C were all special guests of the Later...with Jools Holland spin-off, broadcast over the New Year midnight barrier.

In keep with tradition, the show gleefully shared the Hogmanay spirit followed by a traditional rendition of Auld Lang Syne with the pipes and Drums of the Scots Guards.

Jools looked typically dapper in a navy blue suit, as did Ray Davies, while The Proclaimers and Charlie Wilson opted for a more casual approach.

Melanie C sported a rather bohemian ensemble, which consisted of a zebra-print top with a ruffled skirt.

Rudimental - who were nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and made serious chart waves in 2013 -also appeared on the show, singing tracks from their hit album Home.

Meanwhile, LA girl-band Haim also took to the stage to perform their brand of Californian rock/pop.
