Josh Millgate broke down in tears as he discovered his fiancée Saige was pregnant during Sunday night's episode of Australian Survivor.

The 31-year-old pilot became emotional after he received a letter from home with an ultrasound inside.

He immediately burst into tears after realising he was going to be a father before the other contestants ran to embrace him.

Josh then read the letter from Saige, which said: 'To my dearest Josh, your dream has come true and you're going to be a dad. I'm nine weeks pregnant.'

'I'm counting down the days until you come home, but don't come home any sooner than is expected because now you have a baby to win for,' the letter continued.

Josh explained how the couple were set to start IVF before he left for malware the show after doctors discovered Saige had a 'big' cyst on an ovary.

She was due to have surgery when she discovered she had actually been pregnant during the tests.

Saige revealed in the letter: 'When I was getting the tests done for IVF and going to have a potential operation. I was in fact pregnant the entire time.'

Josh told Woman's Day on Monday, he was shocked to discover his fiancée was pregnant.

'I open this letter and all I see is an ultrasound and I just start bawling my eyes out. It's just overwhelming. I could hardly read the letter,' he said.

Saige added: 'It was the worst possible time [for Josh to be away]. It was an overload of emotions.'

The couple are expecting to welcome their first child in May.
