Police have released an image of a 13-year-old girl who went missing from her home six days ago.

Saige Rakei, 13, vanished from her home in Blackburn, east of Melbourne's CBD, on February 22 and has not been seen or heard from since. 

Ms Rakei's family are concerned for her health and safety given her age and the number of days she has been without contact.

Police believe she has been using public transport and could be staying somewhere in the Box Hill or Dandenong area. 

Officers released an image of the teen and have appealed for any information on her whereabouts.

Ms Rakei is described as being 175 centimeters tall with hazel eyes, long brown hair and multiple piercings in both her ears and under her top lip. 

She was last seen wearing a black dress with pink patterning and a white lace floral cardigan.
