Memes poking fun at 'First buddy' Elon Musk's shocking plans to leave DOGE behind have flooded the internet.

On Tuesday, it came to light that Musk will being saying goodbye to Washington to fully focus on the business world weeks earlier than anticipated. 

It was apparently a joint decision between President Donald Trump and Musk, with the president saying he remains happy with Musk's work with DOGE.

The announcement sparked strong reactions from social media users - who have been having a field day with this new information, which was revealed by anonymous sources to Politico.   

Many seized opportunity to take shots at the controversial special government employee. 

One meme suggested that Musk did not do anything productive during his time working with President Donald Trump.

The post referenced the anime series Sailor Moon: The character Tuxedo Mask declared 'My work is done here,' only for the main character, Sailor Moon, to reply 'But you didn't do anything.' 

The X user who shared the meme, Otto Suwen, captioned it: 'Elon after crashing Tesla 50% and leaving D.O.G.E.'

Amid rising competition, Tesla stock value has tanked by more than 50 percent since December 2024. The company has lost about $800 billion in market value, according to Yahoo Finance. 

Another X user used an image of a couple walking while holding hands. But the man is turning his head to peak at another woman, visibly angering his partner. 

In this case, Musk is pinned as the agitated girlfriend, Trump is the distracted boyfriend and Mark Zuckerberg is the new woman 'Trump' is checking out. 

The SpaceX founder has not been the only pro-MAGA tech mogul to rub elbows with the president.  

In fact, Zuckerberg's company Meta has faced internal dissent since he announced a number of policies which critics claimed were designed to cozy up to the Trump administration.

The wondering-eyed partner meme posted by Aaron Rupar suggests that Trump is already scoping out Musk's replacement - possibly 'Zuck.'

An account called Disology shared a poorly drawn Musk with the words 'being mean to my cars is tewwowism,' above him next to a news article discussing the gesture he made that many believe was a Nazi salute. 

'Tewwowism' is meant to sound like a baby saying 'terrorism,' ultimately depicting Musk as a whining child.

A user named Eon Muks shared an image of Musk's frowning face superimposed onto Elmo's body, which is surrounded by flames.

The outdated Twitter logo is plastered on the bottom of the screen. The user captioned the post '"I am almost done...": Elon Musk reveals he'll ditch Trump and quit Washington after DOGE purge.'

Other memes were even more outlandish and commented on Musk's Wisconsin visit rather than the end of his DOGE tenure.   

Facebook user The Meme War Veteran posting an edited photo that took a jab at Musk backing losing Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel. 

Musk invested roughly $20 million into the candidate -  a debatable decision, according to Musk's critics. 

'Elon Musk might be trying to buy a Supreme Court seat for $20 million, but Wisconsin is not for sale,' Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) said. 

'The people of Wisconsin own their football team - they don't want a billionaire owning their Court.' 

In an unsuccessful final attempt to help the Republican candidate win, the billionaire offered $20 to every person who took a picture with someone else while holding up a picture of Schimel and giving a 'thumbs up.'

In the heavily-edited photo, a gold Cybertruck has been crushed by a massive block of cheese as a cheese hat-wearing Musk sniffs a bottle of Ketamine, alluding to his admitted usage of the substance.

Musk is said to have told people he microdoses ketamine for depression and takes full doses while at parties, video mesum The Wall Street Journal reported in 2023. 

Behind him, protestors hold up signs that demand he gets fired from the government.
