Hilarious photos of bins taped to the wall by an extra careful dad are one of hundreds of memes that have flooded social media as Storm Eowyn batters Britain.
A daughter took to X - formerly Twitter - to share the innovative solution amid some of the strongest gusts in Britain's history.
Documenting the strategy, she went on to deem it a success, saying: 'Haven't slept till 3am and I keep getting up to look out the window ... rubbish is flowing all over the road but not from our bins!!!'
It comes as the potentially deadly storm hit Britain with hurricane-force winds at 6am, with millions of receiving an emergency phone alert warning treacherous conditions pose an 'extreme and real' threat to life.
One person, John McCullough, responded to the post by saying: 'This coming storm will blow bins about.'
But the daughter replied: 'Not these ones obviously.'
Many found the tactic funny and someone commented 'such a dad thing to do' while another added 'classic dad move'.
But Margaret Anne warned: 'Don't laugh. This time last year we had high winds and our metal shed was lifted through the air and onto the road. We had to get fire brigade to help. We now have a wooden shed and are praying it survives this year's storm.'
The daughter said: 'Roaring at my dad taping the bins to the wall'
She later posted: 'For anyone concerned he did tape the lids shut. Will report with results in the morning'
This morning she updated: 'Haven't slept since 3am and I keep getting up to look out the window....rubbish is flying all over the road but not from our bins!!!!'
Meanwhile, other funny memes to grace the internet have made reference to trampolines flying about - something known to have happened during previous storms.
Someone posted: 'Promised the kids a new trampoline. Just a waiting game now.'

Another said: 'When you tell you're girlfriend's dad that you're handy with DIY at DIY and put up a fence for him...'
It then follows the caption with an iconic image of a man with sweat dripping down his face.
One hilarious clip from Father Ted makes reference to the reaction in Ireland - the comment 'God it's lovely out' follows the camera panning to scenes of destruction outside.
And someone else even took the opportunity to compare the movement of bins outside to that of Traitors favourite Alexander during a team mission.
The whole of the UK is covered by at least one yellow weather warning as the fifth named storm of the season hits, porno jepang with rare red warnings issued for parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
It is perhaps no wonder then that Northern Ireland and the Republic have borne the brunt of many of the memes.

'It is going to be a damaging, dangerous and destructive weather event,' chairman of Ireland's National Emergency Co-ordination Group, Keith Leonard said in Dublin on Friday.
It is perhaps no surprise then that people in the British Isles have shared memes such as one of a man laughing on the phone, captioned: 'Roofers and fencers calling each other after Storm Eowyn.'
In reference to a viral clip of weather reporter Teresa Mannion on Storm Desmond from 2015, someone said: 'Can we all check that Teresa Mannion is safe at home, given her tendency to head outside in bad weather.'
This was a nod to the famous line she had emphatically delivered saying: 'Don't make unnecessary journeys, don't take risks on treacherous roads, and don't swim in the sea.'
And it is not too different in its tone to the strong advice that has been issued by officials amid Britain's red weather warning.
Millions of people received a phone alert that said: 'Stay indoors if you can. It is unsafe to drive in these days.'
It comes as another daughter has also posted the reaction of both her parents to X.
She said, 'My mum: Don't leave the house tomorrow. Lock the doors, shut the windows, keep your phone fully charged. Lives are in danger.
'My dad: You'll need your big coat tomorrow.'
