It's a sad time for Gogglebox Australia, with one of the show's stars, Faye Kontos, losing her partner Tony to pancreatic cancer last week. 

Faye's co-star in the hit series and best friend, Anastasia Katselas, announced Tony's passing via the pair's joint Instagram account last Thursday.

'To all our fans. It's Anastasia here. I just wanted to let you all know. My beautiful girlfriend Faye lost her partner yesterday after a long battle with cancer,' the 55-year-old began in an emotional post.

'He was a good man, loyal, honest, hard working. A man anyone would have been proud to call their own. 

'So long Tony. We will miss you. You will always be in Faye's heart. She will never forget you, nor will anyone else. RIP mate. Heaven will be alot [sic] of fun now that you are there.'

In a since-deleted Instagram post, she too paid tribute to her late partner, hinting that Anastasia had shared the news of his passing without her consent.

'For those that knew Tony, would also know that he would shy away from a camera,' began the 54-year-old, as reported by Who.

'But then came along my friend Anastasia, who is the complete opposite and had to help in her special way.

'[She] told the would [sic] of my beautiful man's passing, but for this time, I am glad that she had.




Private: Although Faye hadn't publicly spoken about Tony's illness prior to his passing, she hinted he was unwell in an Instagram post back in September

'I would like to also take the opportunity to thank everyone for their condolences and kind wishes. Tony's family and I are overwhelmed.'
